Getting Started

Frequently Asked Questions

  •  I work with autistic, ADHD and AuDHD clients around things like overwhelm, burnout, masking, anxiety, identity, relationships, and navigating work or education. Therapy can also be a space to better understand your neurodivergence and build strategies that actually work for you.

  • No. Many clients are self-identified, exploring whether they might be autistic or ADHD, or are on a waiting list for assessment.

  •  If you’re looking for a neurodivergent-affirming approach (rather than trying to “fix” or mask who you are), this may be a good fit. You’re welcome to book a short intro call to see how it feels.

  • Absolutely, we can talk about whatever you want to talk about in your sessions.

Sessions & What to Expect

  • The first session is a gentle, low-pressure space to get to know each other. You can share as much or as little as you like. We can also talk about communication preferences, sensory needs, and what helps you feel comfortable.

  • Sessions are collaborative and flexible. Some days you might want to talk things through, and other days might be quieter or more reflective. There’s no “right way” to use the space.

  • Not at all. It’s completely normal to feel unsure where to start. I can help guide things with gentle questions, and silence is always okay.

  • No. You’re welcome to stim, move around, avoid eye contact, or communicate in ways that feel natural to you.

  • No. Therapy is a space where you can show up exactly as you are—there’s no expectation to be a certain way.

  • Yes—sessions are available online or in person. We can discuss what feels most comfortable for you.

Neurodivergence

  • Masking is when you hide or suppress autistic/ADHD traits to fit in. Therapy can help you explore where masking is helping or harming you, and support you in unmasking safely where possible.

  • No. My practice is neurodiversity-affirming. My focus is on supporting you, not changing who you are.

  • We can talk about what helps you feel comfortable—this might include lighting, seating, pacing, any issue is important and we can look for a solution.

Fit, Progress & Flexibility

  • This varies. Some people come for short-term support (e.g. 6–12 sessions), while others prefer longer-term work. We’ll regularly review together.

  • We’ll check in regularly about how things feel for you—this might include changes in how you cope, understand yourself, or navigate daily life.  Often people don’t notice they feel different but do notice that things in their life are starting to change for the better, so it’s about noticing what’s different for you.

  • That’s completely okay. You’re free to stop at any time, and if you like I can support you in thinking about what you may need in a therapist that would make them a better fit for you.

  • We can build in reminders, routines, or flexible approaches that support ADHD-related challenges.

  • We can discuss a structure that works for you, usually that’s weekly or fortnightly, but if this doesn’t suit you then you can book in ad hoc sessions as you would like to.

Fees & Practicalities

  • Sessions cost £65 for a 55 minute session. Payment details will be shared when booking.

  • I offer a limited number of sliding scale spaces—please ask about availability.

  • I operate a 48-hour cancellation policy. With more notice, there’s no charge. Late cancellations are charged in full.

Confidentiality & Safety

  • Yes. Everything you share is confidential, with a few legal exceptions (such as serious risk of harm) which is explained in a written contract.  I also undertake regular supervision to ensure the quality of my work, however I take care not to disclose any personally identifiable information.

  • Your information is stored securely and handled in line with UK GDPR requirements. You can ask for more details at any time.

  • I’m not a crisis service. If you need urgent support it’s best to call NHS 111, or in a life threatening emergency call 999.

Accessibility

  • Yes. I myself identify under the LQBTQIA+ umbrella and I do set out to provide a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for all clients.

  • I will always do my best to make sessions accessible, however please note that my in person practice does require access via a set of steps.  Please let me know your needs and we can explore options together which can include working online.

Booking & Contact

  • You can book an initial session or a free 20-minute consultation via my booking form.

  • Just your name, availability, and that you’d like to work together is enough. If you’d like to share a little about what you’d like to work on, then please share this too, but it’s not essential

  • I will for the most part get back to you within one or two days, but it’s not always the case - for example if I’m away then it may take a little longer.  If you don’t hear from me within a week please feel free to send me a chaser!
